Our origins trace back to Nihon Storage Battery Manufacturing in 1916. After many years as Shin-Kobe Electric Machinery, we became Energywith in 2021.

The Energywith Group continues to grow annually, expanding beyond battery manufacturing into "storage solution services" that help solve customer energy challenges.

We operate 12 sites in Japan, with the headquarters of group companies in Taiwan and Thailand, and additional bases in China, Vietnam, the Netherlands, and the United States. We work together as a Group to provide products and services.

Japan uses approx. 165,000 tons of lead annually for lead acid battery production (FY2023). Energywith accounts for nearly 40% of that volume, operating two domestic factories.

Lead acid batteries are almost fully recyclable. We collect used batteries and reuse them as materials for new products—contributing to a more sustainable society.

From FY2025, off-site PPA will supply part of our factory electricity with additional renewable energy, further accelerating low-carbon manufacturing.

Kobe Electric Machinery, our predecessor, released the highly durable Hylon automotive battery featuring glass-mat technology, winning the Factory Technology Director-General’s Award in 1955.
