A Pioneer in Developing ISS-Compatible Lead Acid Batteries That Supported the Evolution of Eco-Friendly Vehicles

In the early 2010s, as social demands for lower environmental impact and improved safety increased, the automotive industry began accelerating the shift toward electrification and hybridization of vehicle powertrains. As a result, automotive lead acid batteries were required to deliver higher charge acceptance, higher output performance, and greater durability. However, existing technologies at the time were not sufficient to meet these needs, and battery manufacturers and automakers worked together to take on new technological challenges.

Industry-Leading Mass Production and Advancement Toward Next-Generation Technologies

In response to these market trends, our company developed a lead acid battery with high charge acceptance and durability suitable for vehicles equipped with Idling Stop Systems (ISS), achieving industry-leading mass production. This achievement was recognized with the “NISSAN Global Supplier Award – Innovation Award” in 2011.

Furthermore, in 2016, we launched the next-generation lead acid battery Tuflong G3, which delivered approximately 1.5 times the durability of previous models. The following year, this product received the “Super Monozukuri Parts Award – Nippon Brand Award” as well as the “Green & Sustainable Chemistry (GSC) Award – METI Minister’s Award.” Today, this technology continues to evolve and is applied in our next-generation product lineup, including Tuflong PREMIUM PLUS, Tuflong IS Lite, and Tuflong HG-IS PLUS.
